Most of us would say that we want to be more peaceful, take others less personally and ourselves less seriously. We may add that we'd like to be happier and have fun too! The Enneagram provides a playground for us to do just these things.
The Enneagram is a dynamic system of nine personality types that empowers you to better understand yourself and others. As you learn about the nine Enneagram types and witness representatives of each type sharing their personal stories, you will gain self-awareness, compassion and insight to create a more fulfilling and meaningful life. The format is highly interactive, fun, informative, and transformative. Through personal interviews, guided meditations, lectures and experiential practices, we can come to understand our own worldview intimately and learn about the worldviews of others.
This class will introduce the Enneagram through the exploration of the needs that we are attempting to fill through our type strategies. Suitable for new Enneagram students and those wanting to deepen their understanding of the system, we will explore the basic structure of the system and the preoccupations of each type. We will also delve into the primary needs the type structure is attempting to fill, such as safety, love and belonging. When we inquire into the need that is motivating a certain behavior, we begin to perceive through the eyes of compassion. Viewing yourself and others with curiosity and compassion changes these relationships, allowing you to move through the world with greater peace and with more joy.
